About us

It was my 17th birthday, 1984, and I had just received the birthday present I had asked for. My first professional lawnmower, a 36 inch Kees. I couldn’t wait to put my plan into action and begin earning some much needed cash. A buddy and I started the business together, his pickup, my mower, and few other essentials. We started with twelve lawns or so and worked on the weekends. My passion for landscaping had begun and for my friend it soon ended. I bought my own pickup and continued on my own. Landscapes by Henry was born and I am proud to say that several of those first customers are still with me today.

So here I am many years and thousands of jobs later. The experience and knowledge that I have gained during this time could fill volumes. I truly love the work I do and continually expand my knowledge by attending seminars, taking classes, and reading the latest research and trends in horticulture.

My business has expanded since I first began, and I found a particular passion for unique and often underused plants. I can often be found scouring nurseries across Long Island searching for just the right plants for my clients. I also pursue my passion for plants by growing my own. Along with my wife, Jenny, we built a greenhouse and started a small nursery where we grow thousands of annuals, perennials, shrubs, and trees.
